Welcome to Center Presbyterian Church. We welcome you to join us in worship at 10 A.M on Sunday mornings and for Sunday School which begins at 9 A. M.   Center is located on Hwy 360 just North of Tellico Plains, Tennessee at the foot of the beautiful Smokey Mountains

Our Church began as a Sunday School on May 15, 1915. Today we have a membership of  92 and a multitude of loyal regular attending friends.  A complete history of our Church can be found on our  website.

I am sure I am not the only one that would say, "How did I get HERE?"  But Tellico Plains has a way of grabbing you and settling you down for a bit of Sabbath rest. It is a place to be still and listen for God's voice in the undisturbed organic beauty of His creation. The people... The hills... The river... The falls... The places to break bread together... The back porches... The hospitality... This is what keeps us coming back for more.  Just like the Cherokee many years ago who claimed it as a peaceful place.

Center Presbyterian Church is no different.  Its open door policy is one I see that Christ would embrace. "Come to me all who are weary and carrying heavy burdens..." and "I stand at the door and knock..." are two texts that stand out to me when thinking of the church community.  It is a place that understands its idiosyncrasies and embraces its diversity. Center is a church for those that have been in the area a long time, but also a new home for those that find their way to Monroe County at different stages in their lives. In many ways it is a place that provides sacred perspective. It is a place where young and old share a table together.  Hummm... That sounds like the Kingdom of  God.  May  we be called such a place as we continue listening to where the Holy Spirit leads us next... Thanks be to God.   Written by Reverend John B. Rogers during his Ministry at Center Presbyterian Church, 2007.
